Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act

Overview

The CARES Act is a $2 trillion economic aid package, the largest ever passed through Congress. It includes $2 trillion in economic aid. The Act was signed into law by President Trump on March 27, 2020. The law contains billions of dollars in loans, grants and direct payments to help individuals, people who have lost their jobs, small and medium- sized businesses, big businesses, especially hard hit by the coronavirus crisis, medical care providers, and states and localities battling the crisis.
